| David Myers, Chairman of the Mead
David opened Redstone Meadery in September 2000 and had the first product on the market, Black Raspberry Nectar, in July 2001. Since Redstone opened for business it has become one of the leaders in the industry. David made it his mission to produce award winning mead that emphasize honey in the taste, no added sulfites, and non-breathable swing top bottles.
David grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. After attending the brewing school Siebel Institute he decided he was making so much mead at home that it was time to quit the Olympics and go pro! Mr. Myers is now known as a “Mead Maverick” and proudly tours thousands of visitors a year through the Boulder, Colorado facility. He also is one of the founding Board Members of ‘International Mead Association’ (see www.meadfest.org for more information)
Madoka Myers, Countess of the Mead
Madoka started at Redstone as a customer and wound up marrying the man in charge! Did we mention that mead is ‘The Drink of Love’?! Madoka then rolled up her sleeves and now manages the bookkeeping and the tasting room. Madoka grew up in Arizona and spends her sparse spare time scheming of ways to visit the desert during the summer months.
Bernie Tonning, Head Meadmaker
Bernie Tonning caught the buzz and joined Redstone as the Head Mead Maker in 2007, bringing with him 8 years of craft brewing experience. He is delighted to meet new friends who appreciate the splendor of mead and its growing popularity.
Bernie lives the good life in Arvada with his lovely wife, Tracey.
